new plug: simple canvas- december 31st, 2003
this new plug is movie canvas' little brother. it allows you to paint on a movie just like movie canvas. however, this simpler version allows you only one canvas for the whole clip, making it perfect for creating greeting cards, and simple annotations.

(and yes, before you ask: our artist was still on her vacation when we created the demo movie.)

new tutorial published - december 18th, 2003
our second tutorial has hit the net. this time we talk about creating semi-transparent water-marks. if you ever wondered how to do that, here's where you find out.

chromakey (static, to 1.1 and movie, also to 1.1) updated - december 16th, 2003
we have updated our chromakeying plugs to sport a new 'master opacity' slider that allows you to blend back the result into the original clip. this is required for some advanced maskings. this update also includes some fine-tuning for the alpha pre-processors.

first tutorial published - december 14th, 2003
we have begun writing short articles on how to achieve certain video effects. this is the first in a loose series of articles. we hope it helps you to get more out of iMovie and your plugs.

movie canvas updated - december 13th, 2003
we have updated movie canvas to 1.2 - and added another cool feature: import any picture into the canvas. while importing, the plug supports the currently selected transparency, and you can live re-size and reposition until you have the picture just right.

new plug: simple mask - december 12th, 2003
finally it has arrived - simple mask, the plug that makes masking simple, efficient and fun. this plug packs an incredible punch, while being extremely simple to use. in addition to the eight native and user-configurable mask generators, it can import any picture as a mask. and our art department chipped in with thirty high-quality masks that are simply too good to miss.

simple rotate bugfix - december 8th, 2003
we let a very silly bug slip by out testing: you could not set initial rotation. this is fixed now.

new plug: simple rotate - december 6th, 2003
a new plug that combines our crop plug, and adds a twist - literally. with simple rotate you can rotate the clip (or parts of it) in any direction, and even animate the rotation

bugfix for chromakey (movie and static)
a small bug in chromakey movie and chromakey static has been found and removed. it affected the pre-processor when brightness was chosen as chroma source.

new plug: crop - december 2nd, 2003
another new plug. this one is so simple we would never openly admit that we hadn't thought about it until it was requested... It's free, too!

cfx pages offline for a day - december 2nd, 2003
due to heavy traffic, and because of increased storage demands, we had to change our hosting plan with our isp. this also included a move to a different server. because of this, our pages and email where inaccessible for a short period on december 1st and 2nd.

movie canvas updated - december 1st, 2003
movie canvas has been updated to include a lot of features requested by you. among the new features are:

improved pencil tool (no longer pixel-trails)

new line tool

rectangle tool (framed)

rectangle tool (filled)

dashed lines with user-selectable spacing

copy & paste whole canvas

the new version applies to both 640x480 and DV versions. of course your registration code remains valid (no re-registration required). thank you all for the great feedback!

blog accessible from welcome page - november 26th, 2003
due to popular demand we have made the development blog (the ramblings of our programming department) accessible from the welcome page. just click on the 'blog' tab and read about things you never wanted to know.

new plug: movie canvas - november 24th, 2003
this plug turns your iMovie into a paint program! paint laser shots into your movie, create messages, correct artifacts.

new plug: chromakey movie - november 24th, 2003
finally, we have released the plug so many have clamoured for. this plug combines chromakey static's simple interface with multiple movie's media handling capabilities! intelligently and dynamically combine two animated sources!

chromakey (static) updated - november 24th, 2003
we have synchronized chromakey static with it's bigger brother's code base. the problem with crashing while moving the movie slider should now be gone

new plug: rgb only one - november 23rd, 2003
another simple idea, inspired by a cool movie quote: 'there can only be one'. this plug evaluates the three components of each pixel (red, green, blue), and lets only that component with the highest value pass.

new plug: snow flakes - november 8th, 2003
this little plug should get you into the spirit of the year! we hope you like it!

bug-fix for chromakey static - november 2nd, 2003
a small but annoying bug has been found, and removed from this plug. it affected the movie frame slider. hopefully now the slider worls as promised.

new plug: halftone - october 25th, 2003
another fun (and free) plug has joined the ranks: halftone. turn your clip into a nostalgic half-tone computer animation.

new plug: multiple movie - october 6th, 2003
this is the plug many have written us about, and many more have been waiting for (even if they didn't know). it allows you to add as many movie clips to a clip as you want, and also supports pictures (and animated pictures) as well. go nuts with your movies and create the clip collage you always wanted!

new plug: edge detect - october 6th, 2003
this plug can convert your clip into what looks like an animated pencil drawing. tres cool - and free! grab it now to spice up your clips, before you mount it into multi-movie!

new plug: chroma key (static) - september 25th, 2003
best-of-class compositing plug to insert an actor into a static background, or create logo overlay and knock-out effects.

new plug: minify -september 18h, 2003
another plug joins the ranks of cf/x plugs. have fun!

picture in clip (static) updated - september 15th, 2003
plug now correctly converts still frames to animated - should the need arise.
